Summary:

Doug Quaid takes a virtual trip to Mars and discovers that he is not the ordinary worker he thought he was, but a spy whose memory has been stolen. When he really goes to Mars, he finds a mining colony ruled by a dictator who can seemingly alter reality to suit his whims.
